Chapter Meeting:  Chapter Meetings are held at 7:30 pm at Knights of Pythias, 10 Pythias Drive, Edgewater MD 21037.

 

Core Group Meeting:  Core Group Meetings are held at the Annapolis Dealership at 7:00 pm. Volunteers are welcome to help assemble the newsletter.

Swamp Run

Departure Time: 10:00 am Briefing Time: 9:45  (Be on time for the briefing or you can't ride with the group)

Distance: 50 Miles (one way)

Destination: Battle Creek Cypress Swamp, Prince Frederick, MD.

Cost: Cost of your lunch…

Special Requirements: Ability to enjoy nature

Comments: Great ride on some back roads to the Battle Creek Cypress Swamp. This 100 acre sanctuary of bald cypress trees has a great raised walkway through a beautiful natural environment. We will stop, take a walk to see the sights and enjoy the visitor center on this tour of some the most amazing sights and sounds of nature at it’s finest. Lunch to follow. Law Ride

Depart Time: 10:00 AM, Pre-ride briefing 9:45 AM

Distance: 20 miles one way. Rt 214 (Central Ave/East Capitol St)

Destination: Staging with others @ RFK stadium, then to the Law Enforcement Memorial in DC

Costs: None

Special Requirements: None

Comments: This ride pays tribute to ALL Law Enforcements Officers killed in the line of duty.  This is an awesome Memorial and tribute to see. Ride to RFK NOT PD escorted, but RFK to Memorial is.

Covered Bridge Ride

Date: Saturday and Sunday, 5/17-18/08

Depart: Exxon-Tigermart, Exit 39B on US Route 50

Depart Time: 8.20 AM, Pre-ride briefing 8:00 AM  (Be on time for the briefing or you can't ride with the group)

Distance: 280 miles round trip

Destination: Lancaster, PA

Costs: $74.99 + tax for lodging.  Red Roof Inn, Lancaster, PA, for reservations phone 717-299-9700, and tell the operator that you are with the Annapolis HOG Group for the special room rate.

Special Requirements: None

Comments: If you did my ride before, this is a comp0letely new route with nine different covered bridges that we haven't gone thru before.  We'll stop for lunch and at the H.D. Dealership in Strasburg, PA.  If you wish to take in a show at the American Music Theater, called "The British Invasion", tickets are $37.00 per person, $35.00 for those 55 years and older.  Call the box office at 717-397-7700

Comments: The format is a Four Player “Captains Choice” event. Skill level is of no importance, it’s mainly for FUN. There will be a sign-up sheet at the meetings through May. Prizes will be awarded by a drawing from the hat.

Destination: Short ride followed by easy lunch.

Comments: There will be a short discussion on our riding techniques and rules followed by a short ride to practice the various

skills. This is an excellent ride for new members or those experienced riders that have not ridden with our Chapter. This

ride is mandatory for all new Chapter members regardless of riding experience. This ride assumes you have already mastered

the basic motorcycle handling skills.

Blackwater Eagle Ride

Special Requirements: None
Comments: We'll take back roads through Dorchester County through several
sections of Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge with stops near nesting bald
eagles (if they are cooperating again). Roads are nice, with many curves and
little traffic. Bring binoculars and insect repellant. Mosquitoes are
prolific but shouldn't be too bad at this time of the year.
