The Annapolis Harley Owners Group (Annapolis HOG) will be grilling burgers and dogs and occasionally other things at the dealership throughout the spring and summer.  If you are going to be in the area, stop on in, check out the dealership and enjoy a delicious lunch and something to drink.

While you are there, ask one of our members behind the grill, about the Annapolis HOG Chapter.  We do weekly group rides, overnight weekend trips, week long excursions and other events throughout the year.  We love to ride, and we love to have fun.  Stop by, have some lunch and check us out.  We think you will see why we are so excited about riding to great places and doing great things.

Up for something different?  Imagine running an ice cream store without having to own freezers. That’s because Sub Zero flash freezes each custom-mixed order with liquid nitrogen. Customers choose from a variety of cream bases and mix-ins to create an infinite number of flavor combinations. Flash freezing makes for a smoother, creamier product than traditional ice cream because the water doesn’t form large ice crystals.  This one you have to taste to believe

Pre Ride Briefing: 5:45 am (attendance is mandatory)

    Est. Distance: 30 miles
    Destination: Pentagon Parking Lot
    Cost: none

Special Requirements:  Be prepared for a long wait prior to the event .

    Comments:

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to ride in the Rolling Thunder parade?   This is the last year for the Washington ride so if you have never been and want to be a part of it, this is your last chance.  Rommel Annapolis Harley is putting together a ride leaving from the dealership that will join with a larger group for a police escorted ride to the Pentagon parking lot. Because this is the last year for the event, we expect the number of participants to be at an all-time high.

To make sure that we meet up with the escorted ride in time we will be leaving the dealership parking lot at exactly 6:00 am.   Attendance at the pre-ride briefing at 5:45 am is mandatory so plan on arriving early.  If you are coming from outside of the Annapolis area, you may want to consider staying overnight near the dealership so that you won’t be late.  We will not wait for anyone who is not there on time.

Some additional things that you should know about the event.

          ·         The ride from the dealership will be led by Road Captains from the Annapolis Harley Owners Group.

           ·         You will need to sign a waiver, prior to the ride.  Anyone who has not signed a waiver by departure time will not be allowed to ride with the group.

           ·         You will need to sign and additional waiver as part of the police escorted ride to the pentagon.

           ·         Come with a full take of gas prior to departure.  We will not be stopping for gas on the way down to the pentagon.

           ·         This is a full day event.  Because of the number of expected participants, we cannot provide an estimate on when we will be returning back to the dealership.  Because of how the bikes are staged for the ride, it may be extremely difficult to leave once we arrive at the pentagon parking lot.

           ·         Be prepared for a long wait potentially in the heat for the actual ride to the Wall.  It is recommended you bring water or drinks as well as snacks or food with you. Vendors may be available on site, but we won't know until we get there and lines may be long.

Join us for a ride out to the country for a farm fresh lunch at the Brooms Bloom Farm in Bel Air MD.  The farm and farmhouse date back to the early 1700’s and is named after the colonial land grant for the area.  In 1997 the owners began milking the 65 cows on the farm and began making and selling old fashioned ice cream in their café.   The ice cream is so good that some Chapter members have been known to greet the cows with a “Hello Ladies” in appreciation for their contribution to the process.

    Comments:
We will be taking a leisurely route through the backroads and byways of Maryland as we make our way to Potomac MD and Great Falls National Park.

At Great Falls, the Potomac River builds up speed and force as it falls over a series of steep, jagged rocks and flows through the narrow Mather Gorge.  The Maryland side of the falls also abuts the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal that runs from Washington DC, 187 miles north to Cumberland, MD and a canal lock that raises and lowers canal boats as they travel the up and down the canal.

Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the quiet atmosphere while you imagine life back at the turn of the century when the canal moved goods faster than almost any other method.
